Emergency Preparedness

Fort Bend M.U.D. #81 has a documented Emergency Preparedness Plan that is fully integrated into the Master Plan of the City of Weston Lakes. The President and Vice President are members of the Community Emergency Preparedness Team to assure availability should an emergency take place.

The M.U.D. #81 plan is also integrated with those of our Operator, Inframark, who maintains a Command Center when necessary. These plans are reviewed annually to assure they are current and meeting all legislated requirements. The Waste Treatment Plant, Water Plant #1 and Water Plant #2 all have generators should there be a power outage. These are tested monthly by Inframark to assure operational readiness. Additionally, all active sewage lift stations continue pumping to the Sewer Plant during an emergency by use of a portable diesel driven pump.

Due to the population of Fort Bend County and being a neighbor to Harris County, M.U.D. #81 is required to maintain a Preparedness Plan that is acceptable to the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). This plan must be kept current and is maintained by Jones & Carter, the Engineers for M.U. D. #81. It contains a listing of all necessary contacts and sufficient technical information to enable governmental agencies to assist if needed. It also provides guidance should a “Boil Water” situation be necessary.

  • During this time of social distancing and self quarantine one thing still stands true, WATER still flows!
